Brooklyn Haberdashery is way more curated, especially for unique global notions. Purl Soho has good stuff but it feels a bit more mainstream to me.

I'd say BH has a better selection of specialized tools and Japanese craft items. Purl Soho has more fabric variety though, especially for knitting/crochet.
